Pangbourne College welcomes students from a broad spectrum of ability although standards and expectations are high. Our priority is to ensure that all pupils joining the College are able to benefit positively from the curriculum on offer and to enjoy academic and personal success in the future.
Pupils may enrol at the College at age 11, 13 or 16 (Sixth Form) years of age. Admission may be possible at other ages, space permitting.
Entry is by Entrance Examination or Common Entrance. Sixth Form entry is conditional on the achievement of at least 5 passes at GCSE including English and Mathematics (three B grades and two C grades preferred).
Interviews are common and copies of school reports mandatory.
Students educated outside the UK should supply recent school reports (in English) and can expect to take tests under proper supervision.
The College offers a limited number of academic and practical financial awards to talented students each year. Full Details of our Scholarship and Bursary scheme are available from the Registrar.
We strongly advise and welcome visits to the College. A visit will involve a tour of the campus with a senior pupil and an informal meeting with Mr Thomas Garnier, the Headmaster. A visit will provide you with an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Pangbourne community, to meet with staff and pupils and to view our facilities.
Registration
Prospective pupils may register (apply for a place) at any time by completing and returning the Registration Form (available from the Registrar). Once a child is registered, a place is reserved for him or her at the appropriate age level.
Offer
A formal offer of a place is made one the College’s entrance requirements have been met, usually following a good performance in the Entrance Test or Common Entrance.
Acceptance
The offer of a place is deemed to have been accepted on completion and return of the Acceptance Form which accompanies the letter offering a place.
Responsibility for all aspects of the admissions process lies with the Headmaster’s Office. The Registrar will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
