Small enough to really care

Visitors and our parents remark that Pangbourne feels different - relaxed - remarkably happy and yet purposeful. The happiness of our pupils is a priority and we are extremely proud of our integrated and highly effective pastoral care which is the foundation upon which our very special community is built.

Every boy and girl, day or boarder, belongs to a House and they can expect to develop a warm rapport with their Housemaster / Mistress, house tutors and matrons. Inclusion is very important and communication between staff, pupils and their families is actively encouraged.

Academic tutors contribute, liaising closely with House staff and not just about progress in the classroom. Attitude, motivation and the general well-being of every individual student is carefully monitored and supported.

Staff members to whom pupils can turn for advice and support are clearly identified and we also offer a peer mentoring programme providing pupil to pupil support.

In addition the College has its own fully staffed Health Centre and confidential counselling services are available if necessary.
